Zeynep Sandalli holds a Master's degree in Political Science with a focus on Political Theory from Heidelberg University. During her Master's degree, she completed a research internship on race, class and gender in the history of political thought and worked as a student research assistant at the Chair for Modern Political Theory. She wrote her master's thesis on the representation and thematization of women in welfare state discourses in Great Britain and Germany. She is currently working in the AdvanceMent Freiburg programme in the Department of Gender Equality, Diversity and Academic Staff Development at the University of Freiburg, where she is also completing a second Master's degree in Gender Studies. Additionally, she works as a conflict researcher at the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research (HIIK), where she monitors the Syrian conflict with a focus on the Islamic State (IS). Her research interests include political theory and the history of ideas, radical democratic thought as well as feminist and queer theories.
