Willing to travel for an event.
After enthusiastically studying architecture at RWTH Aachen University and completing my diploma and master's degree at the Bartlett School in London, I stuck to theory. Since then, I have been reporting on architecture, urban art and urban development topics for specialist magazines, in books or live, with a focus on Cologne. And away from the desk, it can happen that the museum turns into a marble run.

"Willkommen in diesem Stückchen Köln in Berlin. Wir möchten heute Abend in diesem Thema, in diesem Setting bleiben. Wahrscheinlich ist der größte Teil des Publikums mit Vorsatz in das Büdchen in der Galerie gekommen sein, das unterscheidet uns von dem meist zufälligen Zusammentreffen am Büdchen oder Späti, wo man zu jeder unmöglichen Uhrzeit andere Menschen trifft, die ebenfalls gewöhnliche oder ungewöhnliche Einkäufe erledigen oder diese nur als Grund benutzen, um mal wieder das Haus zu verlassen. Wir möchten heute über die Ausstellung, das Büdchen an sich, über das Büro JSWD und über Geld und die Welt sprechen. Und das möchten wir in einer Art Presseclub tun." Berlin, am 7. Oktober 2021
In der Folge #26 diskutiert die Architekturkritikerin Uta Winterhager mit den Architekten Christian Heuchel (O&O Baukunst, Berlin) und Juan Pablo Molestina (Molestina Architekten + Stadtplaner, Köln) über „Architektur und Demokratie“.
Sie sprechen darüber, wie demokratische Prozesse Architektur und Stadtplanung beeinflussen. Denn partizipatorische Formate verändern derzeit Planungs- und Bauprozesse. Bürger*innen und betroffene Aktuer*innen wollen ihre Nachbarschaften und Städte mehr und mehr mitreden und mitgestalten. Kann Bürgerbeteiligung in der Planungsphase dabei helfen, mehr Gemeinwohl in die Planugnen zu bringen?
Ich habe mich sehr gefreut, als über Stefan Schilling die Anfrage kam, ob ich bei der Eröffnung der Ausstellung sprechen möchte. Danke für euer Vertrauen und den Mut mich von meinem Schreibtisch wegzuholen.
Es ist ein wenig seltsam, denn obwohl wir an denselben Themen arbeiten, oft auch an denselben Projekten, sehen wir uns kaum. Erst durch die Hände der Redaktion stehen Bilder (von euch) und Text (von mir) in der Zeitschrift, im Magazin dann plötzlich nebeneinander. In den 24 Jahren, in denen ich jetzt schreibe, habe ich nur zwei Ortstermine gemeinsam mit Fotografen gemacht. Zufall oder nicht, denn wenn ihr kommt, und das ist im Leben eines Hauses meist sehr früh, ist alles so sauber, als würde das Bauen keinen Dreck machen, so unberührt, als würde das Benutzen keine Spuren hinterlassen. Ich liebe diese Momente, die die Architektur in maximaler Reinheit zeigen
