What is Explainable AI (XAI)?
The term Explainable AI (XAI) refers to approaches that make decisions of AI systems comprehensible to everyone.
Possible structure of a talk on XAI:
• Motivation for XAI (insights, fairness, trust)
• How to open the Black Box: Overview of different eexplanation techniques
• Putting theory into practice: presentation of use cases

What are the LHIND AI Services?
The LHIND AI Services are preconfigured, productive, standardised AI products. There are currently a total of 4 basic services: ForecastAI, TextCategorisationAI, InfoExtractAI and SmartAssistantAI. What all basic services have in common is that they can be customised to the individual needs of customers. This offers countless opportunities for real business value. LHIND takes care of setup and customisation as well as operation, maintenance and support. This gives customers the "all-round carefree package".

And as a personal note: Thank you for all invitations! I wish I could do them all, but unfortunately this is not always possible. I want to give others more spotlight. Therefore I am also happy to put you in touch with other great speakers if I don't have the time at your desired date.

Bio:

Theresa Tran is a data scientist and Product Manager LHIND AI Services at Lufthansa Industry Solutions (LHIND), a service provider for IT consulting and system integration. She enjoys transforming meaningless data into meaningful insights that make work processes more efficient and our lives easier. She has experienced first-hand that the best machine learning model is pointless if the user does not trust it. Theresa believes that trust arises from understanding. She used her master's thesis to investigate different approaches to make machine learning models more interpretable. For her work in the field of Explainable AI she received the Women's STEM Award from Deutsche Telekom. In addition, the German Informatics Society (Gesellschaft für Informatik) honored her as AI Newcomer 2019.

The topics on which she can speak are now more extensive. In particular, the topics of the EU AI Act and AI Services (AI as a Service) have been added. Particularly in her role as Product Manager LHIND AI Services, she can tell first-hand how companies can introduce "AI at the touch of a button" with the help of AI Services - away from costly PoCs (Proof of Concepts), some of which later come to nothing, towards AI Services (AI products) that can be used out-of-the-box + of course always customisable to the customer's needs. The operationalisation of AI plays a decisive role here, including operation, monitoring and maintenance.

In her spare time, Theresa is committed to getting girls and women interested in the STEM sector. Among other things, she has been a dedicated member of the Femtec.Alumnae e.V. (short: FTA), she has organized experimental days for schoolgirls (https://www.femtec-alumnae.org/vorbild-sein/girls-macht-mint/), offered on-site and online AI seminars at the Hacker School (https://hacker-school.de/) and, as a mentor, supported a student in her career planning for a year (https://www.mentoringhessen.de/angebot/mentoring/procareer-mint/).

Further Honors & Awards
1st prize "Wild West Hackathon: Wrangling Data into Actionable Insights (PNW)" Hackathon (endowed with 500$) • Datenlotsen-Preis 2019 (endowed with 2500€) • 1st prize "Fiction2Science" Hackathon in the category "Industry 4.0 & AI" (endowed with 800€) • 3rd prize "Lidl loves Data" Hackathon (endowed with 400€)

Whitepaper: Artificial Intelligence as a Service (AIaaS)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) isn’t just a pipe dream any more. The technology is here. It’s well-developed, accessible, affordable… and already being used to automate tasks and optimize processes. Companies are also aware of this and are increasingly focusing on the use of AI tools. Implementing such complex technologies is fraught with challenges, however, and this is especially true for medium-sized companies.

Theresa Tran | Sind Entscheidungen von KI-Systemen immer nachvollziehbar?

(Interview)
