After training as a craftsman at Mercedes-Benz, Sybs Bauer graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart in industrial design (Dipl. Des.), won first prizes and studied with two scholarships, from the Design Center Stuttgart and the DAAD, at the renowned Royal College of Art in London (MA(RCA)). A late, extra-occupational dissertation at the Technical University of Munich satisfied her spirit of research (Dr.-Ing.). Training in CAD, marketing and deep psychological coaching strengthen their skills. She has been teaching at international universities in German, English and Spanish since 1998 and is in demand as a juror, speaker and moderator.
Dr-Ing. Sybs Bauer worked in various design offices and in industry for several years, lived and worked in Caracas, Venezuela for several years. She has been self-employed in Hamburg since 2000.
Here she creates brand strategies, corporate design and industrial design, preferably holistically. Increasingly, she can integrate natural processes and appropriate employee training.
She was co-founder and long-time chairwoman of the designerinnen forum, board member for PR & publicity at the Hamburg Sailing Club and is currently chairwoman VDID Nord (Association of German Industrial Designers, also a partner of the New European Bauhaus).
