Bio:

I graduated from Goethe University Frankfurt am Main with a double B.A. and M.A. in Pedagogy/Educational Science as well as Ethnology, with a focus on discrimination and oppression, local and global power dynamics of power, war and post-war violence, (post/neo-)colonialism, flight/migration and social justice. My regional focus of my anthropological studies was Sri Lanka; methodologically, I work in the field of qualitative data collection, evaluation and analysis. In doing so, I have been able to gain expertise and experience in conducting critical ethnographic fieldwork almost every year since 2017.

After nearly 10 years of part-time work in the field of social work and pedagogical counselling with refugees, women and drug users during and after my studies, I started to focus on academia with my dissertation at the end of 2021. Since then, I am working on my PhD at Humboldt-Universität Berlin at the intersection of global and political anthropology. My dissertation looks at postcolonial racist and nationalist oppression by primarily researching on cultures of resistance as well as processes of politicization that accompany them.

By 2020, I parallelly started working as a freelance researcher/writer and political consultant. For organizations, associations, magazines and newspapers, I offer texts and articles, interview- and literature-based studies, conflict analysis, report writings as well as briefing, input, moderation, papers and lectures on global conflicts, critical political work on social justice and human rights, and Sri Lanka among other topics.
