Bio:

My name is Regine Glaß, I live in Sweden's second largest city, Gothenburg, and I work here as a freelance journalist, author, translator and mentor for gender-appropriate language. As an expert in languages and urban culture, I like to speak on gender-appropriate language, feminist urban planning, urban development through migration movements and social housing.

I didn't find the straight way to Sweden: Born in Karl-Marx-Stadt, raised in Franconia, shaped by Wendekind experiences, I first went to Berlin to study and start my career. In addition to studying German and Sociology (BA) and Historical Urban Studies (MA), I wrote short stories for print and online (including Missy Magazine, Brennpunkt F! And edition f), played and designed theater at expedition metropolis and started my career in Agencies, press departments and in the publishing house. My internship abroad took me to Krakow, to the Galician Jewish Museum, where I raised my English to a professional level and deepened my expertise in the culture of remembrance and city history.

I chose journalism as a profession because of local investigative stories. I did my traineeship at Volksstimme in Saxony-Anhalt, as an editor I was mainly responsible for politics at the news desk and wrote as a local reporter.

I imported my love for people and finding news in supposed deserts to Sweden and since then I have enjoyed working with urban structures that arise regardless of the number of inhabitants, whether in digital space or in the countryside.
