Bio:

Nadine is the founder of the platform for collaborative climate-friendly urban design “Creative Climate Cities” and actively promotes “Klima Kieze” (climate action neighbourhoods) as drivers for social and technological urban innovation. Currently she manages the “Smart Sustainable District” Moabit West in Berlin as part of a implementation programme of the European institution climate-KIC, focussing on smart infrastructure projects. From 2002 - 2010 she has worked as architect, urban designer and curator in Berlin and Cape Town. In 2011 she joined the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) as research fellow. In 2012 she worked for the megacities research project “Young Cities” and became deeply involved in global urban design challenges related to energy- and resource efficient design. Since 2012 Nadine is an associate professor at the department CHORA city&energy at TU Berlin and has also lectured at various universities such as University of Cape Town (South Africa), ZHDK Zurich (Switzerland), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia).
