#Metoo, #aufschrei, #MiPrimerAcoso – weltweit spielen das Internet, digitale Medien und Web 2.0 eine immer bedeutendere Rolle für feministischen Aktivismus. Sogar auf den Straßen zeigt sich Netzfeminismus heute, Protest offline und online scheint sich international zu verbinden.

Auch in Mexiko und Deutschland schaffen Aktivist*innen mit Hilfe des Internets – oft auf kreative Art und Weise – Aufmerksamkeit für ihre Anliegen: Kritik an lokalen gesellschaftlichen Problemen ist genauso zu finden wie globalpolitische Forderungen.

Mit seinem Entstehen Anfang der 90er wurde das Internet euphorisch als neuer grenzenloser sowie körperloser Raum begrüßt, in dem sich die Gesellschaft noch einmal neu erfinden sollte. Wie aber sehen heute die virtuellen Realitäten und Möglichkeiten für Frauen je nach lokalen Kontexten aus? Was bedeutet Netzfeminismus für Aktivist*innen verschiedener Generationen aus beiden Ländern?

Fragen, die in der Veranstaltung im Mittelpunkt stehen und gemeinsam diskutiert werden können, sind:
• Was ist Feminismus? Und was hat das mit Internet zu tun?
• Wer kennt hashtag-Aktionen wie #aufschrei bzw. #MiPrimerAcoso? Was ermöglicht diese Form des Protests? Wo liegen seine Grenzen?
• Welche Formen von feministischem Aktivismus finden wir auf YouTube?
• Wie umgehen mit Hass? Zukunftsperspektive Netzfeminismus?
Grundlage für die Diskussion sind die Inhalte der multimedialen Ausstellung „Wir sind vernetzt“. Die Ausstellung ist Ergebnis einer Auseinandersetzung mit Cyberfeminismus am Beispiel von Mexiko-Stadt. Erforscht wurde, in welchem Ausmaß und auf welche Art die Diskurse der aktuellen cyberfeministischen Bewegungen dort von der Entwicklung der Internettechnologie, dem lokalen feministischen Aktivismus sowie dem (Gewalt)Kontext in Mexiko(-Stadt) geprägt sind. Zudem wurde Frage nachgegangen, inwieweit der cyberfeministische Aktivismus eine politische Schlagkraft entwickelt und inwiefern er zu einer Veränderung der gesellschaftlichen Realitätswahrnehmung beiträgt. Wenn von Interesse, kann zudem auf den Prozess, die Erstellung und Kuration der Ausstellung eingegangen werden.

Ob auf der Straße, im Netz oder in der Politik – überall in Lateinamerika mischen sich Feminist*innen in gesellschaftliche Debatten ein, kämpfen für ihre Rechte, Partizipation und Selbstbestimmung. Dabei haben sie zahlreiche Erfolge erzielt. Was können wir von lateinamerikanischen Aktivist*innen lernen? Wie können wir uns mit ihnen solidarisieren und uns ihre Kämpfe zum Vorbild machen?

The Current Discourses Of Cyberfeminist Movements In Mexico City
Cyberfeminists primarily act within the Internet, often regarded as a global virtual space without borders. However, the discourses of the Mexican cyberfeminists show that their actions are heavily influenced by the activists’ local contexts. In Mexico City the current cyberfeminist activism is marked by other autonomous urban feminist movements and the politics of the local PRD government. Additionally, “machismo” and violence against women from catcalling to assault to femicides impact the activists’ lives on a daily basis. Within virtual spaces these phenomena reappear, e.g. in the form of “trolls” who insult, threaten and intimidate. Cyberfeminists thus inhabit the hybrid zones on the disappearing lines between virtual spaces and local physical world. Within this framework Donna Haraway’s “Manifesto for Cyborgs” (1985), which also came to be the cyberfeminists’ manifesto, remains relevant as it further questions these borders, particularly between human and technology, woman and man. In order to grasp these multiple levels of blurred dualisms and dichotomies of spaces and gender constructions, this discourse analysis critically examines the activists’ media creations in form of text, image and audio-visual media as well as the press coverage about their actions from 2015 to 2017. Based on the thoughts of Michel Foucault and the method of Margarete and Siegfried Jäger the paper hence shows how current cyberfeminist movements interpret the hybridities surrounding them. Moreover it is analysed how the societal contexts influence their activism and what impact from the global virtual space onto the constructions of reality within the local population the activists can make.

Ciberfeministas actúan sobre todo en el Internet, el cual muchas veces está considerado como un espacio virtual, global y sin fronteras. Sin embargo, los discursos de las ciberfeministas mexicanas muestran una fuerte influencia del contexto local de las activistas. En la Ciudad de México el activismo actual ciberfeminista es marcado por otros movimientos autónomos de feministas urbanas y la política local del gobierno del PRD. Además, el machismo y la violencia contra mujeres, desde el acoso callejero hasta los feminicidios, también impactan la vida cotidiana de las activistas. En el espacio virtual reaparecen estos fenómenos, por ejemplo en forma de “trolls” quienes insultan, amenazan e intimidan. Así, las ciberfeministas habitan una zona híbrida entre el espacio virtual y el mundo físico local; una frontera cada vez más difusa si no desaparecida. En este marco, el “Manifesto for Cyborgs” (1985) de Donna Haraway, el cual vino a ser el manifesto ciberfeminista, mantiene su relevancia por cuestionar estas fronteras, en especial entre lo humano y lo tecnológico, entre mujer y hombre.
Para entender estos múltiples niveles de borrosos dualismos y dicotomías entre espacios y géneros, este análisis crítico del discurso examina las creaciones mediáticas de las activistas como son textos, imágenes y medios audio-visuales; además se ocupa de artículos en prensa sobre sus acciones entre 2015-2017. Basada en la teoría de Michel Foucault y el método de Margarete y Siegfried Jäger este trabajo muestra cómo los movimientos ciberfeministas actuales interpretan los hibridismos rodeándolas. Además, se analiza cómo los contextos sociales influyen en su activismo y qué impacto tienen las activistas desde el espacio virtual y global hacia la construcción de la percepción de la realidad social a nivel local.
