Bio:

Maria Schreiber is a researcher at the Department of Communication, University of Vienna since August 2013, holding a scholarship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences as part of the DOC-team project "Picture Practices". She studied Communication and Sociology at the University of Vienna from 2001 to 2007. For her master thesis "Female Sexuality and the Media" she did research on generation-specific media practices in context with sexuality. After gaining professional experience in corporate communications for some years (A1, Bank Austria), she was a research assistant in the project "Iconic Communication. An empirical study on iconic communication in fashion" (funded by the Austrian Science Fund, Department of Basic Psychological Research) from 2010 to 2011, and a lecturer at the Institute for Communication, Marketing & Sales at the University of Applied Sciences for Management and Communication from 2012 to 2013.
