Bio:

A natural storyteller, I am the Founder & Chief Experience Officer at innosensi, a sensory innovation collective that fuels creativity and innovation through sensory experiences designed to help us connect back to ourselves, each other and our environment. Combining sensory science with new technologies, these experiences – often centered around a meal - aim to break down barriers, challenge assumptions and make us more mindful about our behaviours. I have presented my multisensory dining experiences at London Food Tech Week, the House of Beautiful Business and the UN to name a few.

Alongside my work at innosensi, I am also a certified ExO Sprint Coach and Advisor, a CEO-CF facilitator, and Innovation Advisor at Metaspeech, a communications/body language coaching company which helps startup leaders & executives embody confidence by harnessing their body's intelligence.

I am also an avid 'Women in Tech' and 'Tech for Good' advocate and can be found speaking on stages around the globe, including TED.

Are We Losing Our Common Sense(s)?

The rapid advance of technology has inadvertently led to the decline of everyday sensory stimulation. In exchange for convenience, we are numbing our senses, which could lead to the numbing of our cognitive processes, eventually equating us to the very same robots that we are creating.

We can, however, reverse this. Instead of using technology to disconnect us, we can turn it into a tool with which to connect back to ourselves, to each other and to the world around us. By resurrecting our senses through immersive experiences, we can learn to challenge assumptions, bring awareness to our biases, break down barriers and become more empathetic, conscious human beings. And maybe preserve our humanity. Kim is founder and CEO of IN3. She believes that technology should and can be used to create deeper connections and make us more conscious as humans. IN3 is an innovation hub which harnesses the knowledge and learning s of different disciplines to create multi-sensory, immersive experiences, incorporating new technologies to evoke emotion, encourage us to break down barriers, bring awareness to our biases and inspire us to become more mindful of our environment. This talk was given at a TEDx event in 2017.
