Bio:

Dr. Katrin Schuhen is the inventor, researcher, developer and founder of the non-profit company Wasser 3.0 (Wasser 3.0 gGmbH).

Until May 2018, she did this as a Junior Professor of Organic and Ecological Chemistry at the University of Koblenz-Landau.

After gaining her doctorate in chemistry at Ruprecht-Karls University Heidelberg in 2007, she worked in the chemical and medical technology industry for five years before founding her research group in 2012. Since then, she and her colleagues have been researching inorganic-organic hybrid materials for applications in (waste) water purification.

In 2015, she was honored with the GreenTec Award in the category "Water and Wastewater" and was awarded the Environmental Award Rhineland Palatinate 2017 and the Hans Raab Environmental Award 2016 as well as the Partlife Environmental Award 2019.
