My current research and program activities are characterised by investigations of our future ecologies and globalisation, the biodiversity in future cities, frameworks in environmentalism and socio-economical studies.
Katharina studied Cultural studies, Media technologies, Business Intelligence and Managerial Economics. She curated and contributed to panels and exhibitions like Berlin Art Week, Vienna Design Week, «Making Africa: A Continent of Contemporary Design» at The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; The Grid at the Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town among others.
She worked as a curator, producer, and strategist in innovation, digitalisation, archive and culture management. Her research and program activities are characterised by their investigations of future ecologies and globalisation, biodiversity in future cities, frameworks in environmentalism and socio-economical studies.
Katharina Balgavy founded The Plastic Index which mediated on future ecologies, culture and sustainability, intersecting practice and interdisciplinary research. Projects and advisory for a strong standing legacy in corporates and institutions, enabling corporate governance, sustainability and diversity in the organization and program development.
