Dr. Johanna Ullrich is a senior researcher in the field of IT security and privacy identifying vulnerabilities in networks, particularly the Internet. She is an expert on IPv6, the prospective Internet protocol affecting all Internet users in the future, and has shown that a widely deployed IPv6 address standard threatens individuals' privacy. Being an electrical engineer by education, she is further interested in raising awareness for security and privacy in traditional engineering. Johanna knows how to attack power grids by Internet-of-Things botnets or Bitcoin miners, to remotely deactivate breaks in cars or stop production plants. For her PhD degree, she was awarded promotio sub auspiciis praesidentis by the Austrian president. Johanna loves teaching technology to people of different backgrounds and age groups.
