Bio:

Jennifer Bansard is a research associate at University of Potsdam.

Her main research interests are climate change and marine biodiversity policy. She currently examines the emergence of “blue carbon,” a concept that refers to the role of coastal ecosystems such as mangroves and salt marshes in fighting climate change. She has published on subjects such as the role of science in environmental governance, transnational city networks on climate change, and social media research.

In addition to her academic work, she is a team leader and writer for the International Institute for Sustainable Development’s Earth Negotations Bulletin. As such contributes to reporting on various international environmental conferences, including those of the United Nations Framework Conference on Climate Change.
