Bio:

JI studied health sciences and European public health at the universities of Neubrandenburg and Carinthia, as well as at Bielefeld University.

I am currently pursuing my doctorate at Charité on experiences with taking and stopping the contraceptive pill.

From 2020 to 2025, I worked as a research associate at the Institute for Medical Sociology at MLU. During this time, I worked primarily on topics related to sexual and reproductive justice (e.g., contraception, birth control pills, health stigma) and qualitative methods in the medical and health sciences. From 2023 to 2025, I was a project partner in Charité's “Empowerment for Diversity” project. This project focuses on (anti)racist attitudes in medical education.

Since October 2025, I have been working as a research associate (operational project manager) on the project “LEAH – Living with Endometriosis: Testing an Arts-based Design for Health Services Research” at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany.

Qualification Project
