Bio:

I have been working more than 13 years in the field of climate change, and climate and energy policy. I worked as a PhD student and PostDoc at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and in 2011 I joined the Institute for Applied Ecology (Öko-Institut). I am particularly involved in progress analysis with regard to the EU climate and (renewable) energy targets (2020 and beyond). Both the EU-28 as well as all Member States are the focus of my analyses. The underlying reporting obligations and data are part of my regular work. In addition to these topics I deal with economic analyses (for example, mitigation costs; distribution analysis) in the field of climate policy. Through my insights into climate change research and my current work at the interface of research / practice / policy I experience how important it is to communicate complex issues in an undertandable way. If this is successful, we can "remove barriers and create bridges". This is one of my everyday goals.
