Willing to travel for an event.
I am passionate about supporting women and families to take control of their finances and make informed decisions. Through my work with Geldbiografien® and Finanzbiografien, I explore the stories behind money, combining research, practical experience, and empowerment. I love sharing insights, facilitating discussions, and inspiring people to become financially self-determined in their personal and professional lives.
Dr. Birgit Happel is a German expert in financial education, gender equality in finance, and Financial Social Work. She is the founder of the Geldbiografien® concept and the Finanzbiografien portal, the first platform in Germany dedicated to Financial Social Work. She is also the author of "Auf Kosten der Mütter", which explores financial self-determination and practical approaches to money management.
Her work combines academic research with practice-oriented approaches and focuses on financial self-determination, gender-sensitive financial education, and social financial counseling for women and families. Dr. Happel is a sought-after speaker and has been featured in national and international media, including Deutschlandfunk Kultur, SWR1, Stiftung Warentest, Der Spiegel, and Brigitte.
