Dr. Annette Mossel is an expert in the area of virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) with more than 9 years of research and development experience. In 2014, she received her PhD from the Faculty of Informatics at Vienna University of Technology (Austria) with focus on real-time localization and 3D interaction in VR/AR; currently, she holds a post-doc research position at the Institute of Visual Computing and Human-Centered Technology at Vienna University of Technology. During her studies, Annette worked as a visiting researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics, Germany and the MIT Media Lab, USA. Annette was a key member at numerous national and international R&D projects (project leader, project co-manager, lead investigator), published more than 25 scientific papers in the field of real-time localization, 3D mapping, 3D interaction techniques and interfaces as well as collaboration in shared virtual environments and was internationally awarded for her work (MoMM 2013 Best Paper Award, ISMAR 2016 Best Poster Paper Award). She is a peer-reviewer for the major VR&AR international conferences (IEEE VR, IEEE ISMAR, SIG CHI), technical advisor to international corporates and co-founder and CTO of her startup Frameless (www.frameless.me) that develop a new technology to trans-form any place into an immersive virtual experience, on the fly and with the smartphone.
