Personal note:

Leaving your comfort zone and taking action, fighting for something and believing in yourself and your success is what ultimately determines the outcome of a project. Today is MY project the Livingseas Coral Restoration Site in Bali, the second largest restored coral reef of its kind in Indonesia.

I will take you into the world of the oceans and inspire you. Because whether we are talking about coral reef restoration or IT projects: Love it, Leave it OR CHANGE IT!
My topics Sustainability | Marine Ecosystems | Project Success Taking a risk, leaving the passive corner and broadening your perspective is what my webinars and keynotes are all about.

My goal is to inspire you and your team to be motivated to act and take action! I invite you on a journey to the island of the gods and show you how passion and team spirit have made something possible that was unthinkable just a few years ago.

Bio:

Professional career in Germany
After studying literature and sociology at the University of Mannheim, I began my career as a product manager in the IT sector of the financial services industry in Germany.

In addition to project business, I was active in various national committees. I also gave presentations at customer events and forums at board level.

After almost 20 years of dedicated IT work in Germany, I decided to change my perspective.

Together with my husband Peter , I swapped our comfort zone in Germany for our passion – the ocean..

A new start in Bali:
From the IT sector to the ocean

In 2013, we emigrated to the island of Bali in Indonesia and worked there as diving instructors.

This step into a new life far away was crucial and was scrutinised by family and friends in Germany.

We needed courage, perseverance and self-confidence to go through with our plan, swapping ‘German security’ for ‘Indonesian chaos’ – at least for the first few years.

Commitment to the ocean: coral reef restoration - how it all began
Shortly before the start of the pandemic, we decided to take action as diving instructors against the desolate situation of the ocean that we encountered on a daily basis: many reefs were destroyed and fish stocks were declining.

Instead of waiting for someone else to solve the problem, we packed our equipment together with colleagues, got on the boat and started to renaturalise the ocean by rebuilding coral reefs.

Today, five years later, our rebuilt reef, the Livingseas Coral Restoration Site, off the coast of Bali is the second largest of its kind in Indonesia.

In 2023, I founded the registered non-profit organisation Livingseas Foundation – Germany with the aim of making an OCEAN impact in Germany too.

Awards and recognition
Our work has been recognised as a network partner of the German Committee of the UN Decade of the Ocean and presented as a role model on the BetterOcean and Heroes of the Sea platforms.

Keynote speaker and CSR consultant
As a keynote speaker, I have been bringing the topic of OCEAN to committed companies from a CSR perspective since 2024.

I offer you and your employees a rousing keynote speech.

Everything that is conceivable is also feasible.

I provide you with a sustainable project idea to support you in positioning yourself as a future-orientated company in your social responsibility.

From Bali, I inspire your teams flexibly online and in a resource-saving way.

I am also available on site for special occasions - but webinars are often the faster and more efficient solution.
