Charlotte Niekamp is a peasant farmer and market gardener from Niedersachsen, Germany. She studied landscape ecology, focusing on the interrelations between social and ecological systems. Charlotte Niekamp has been active in the climate justice movement since 2009 with a focus on community organizing and public relations, and is advocating for farmers' rights and a higher valuation of peasant agriculture.
Charlotte has helped organize the climate camp in the Rhineland and strengthen relationships to people directly affected by lignite mining with the community organization "Alle Dörfer bleiben!". She has initiated and is a part of various local as well as nationwide organizations, working on topics such as climate justice, strategies for social movements, just and ecological agriculture, migration and equality.
