Bio:

I give talks about Life Science and explain complex processes in molecular biology and biochemistry in an easy to understand manner for the interested public. In my dissertation, I studied cellular senescence, focussing on DNA-damage, a daily event in cells. If unrepaired, DNA-damage can lead to cancer. DNA-damage and ageing are a prerequisite for cancer development, yet ironically, DNA-damage is a standard method to to kill cancer cells. Young cancer patients are often suffering from age-related diseases after succesful chemotherapy.
I am also science blogger at scilogs, podcaster and science slammer.
