From 1001 nights to e-commerce

My bio:

Andrea Bury is an experienced marketing expert, story teller and social entrepreneur.
After having finished her studies of economics and business administration in 1996 she started her career at Schmidt und Kaiser GmbH, a communication agency based in Frankfurt. In 1998 she moved to London as consultant for Corporate Identity at Henrion, Ludlow & Schmidt, an internationally operating CI-consultancy. In 1999 she was appointed as implementation manager of the „Laureus World Sports Awards“ first in London, then in Monaco where the first „Laureus World Sports Awards“ was staged.

After the successful implementation she moved to Munich and founded a pr and event agency „Calliope – inspiring brand communication“ in 2001. She has since then developed marketing strategies e.g. for Deutsche Bank AG, Campari, O2 Germany, DEDON, Volkswagen and others.

In 2002 she finished her second studies in cultural management at the Fernuniversität Hagen.

In 2007 she moved partly to Marrakech and opened a city palace she had previously restored with artisans, the AnaYela, a "Place of Inspiration". It has won the World Hotel Award 4 times. This experience inspired her to start ABURY – a social fashion business that brings together avantgarde designers and traditional crafts people to create a new generation of luxury style that fosters intercultural exchange, preserves world crafts and promotes education.
In 2011 she started TEDx Marrakesh who is held every year since then in Marrakesh. She is a speaker for social impact business and intercultural dialogue – e.g. at DLDwomen, TEDxBerlin, Social Media Week, Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, etc.
In 2013 she was awarded with the Victress Award for Social Entrepreneurship.
