Bio:

Larissa Kraft holds a BA in Governance and Public Policy (University of Passau, 2018) and an MLitt in Modern History (University of Glasgow, 2019). For her Masters dissertation, she researched women’s policymaking in Britain and Germany in the 1950s. As a PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow since 2020, she conducts a comparative study of Britain, France and West Germany during the first British application to join the European Communities (1961–63). Her project focusses on the role of the past in policymaking discourses. It inquires how the past not only influenced policymakers’ mindsets, but also to what extent they mobilised and re-narrated the past in order to advance their policy goals.
