Bio:

Hi, my name is Sara Weber. I am a German American journalist, consultant and author based in Munich, Germany.

I work with people who want to change things. I lead teams and conversations. I develop strategies and products. I talk on stages and into mics. I am interested in the world of work and technology. I believe in equity and innovation.

I am thinking about how to make our world of work more equitable and fit for the future. Digitization will have a great impact on society and the economy in the coming years and decades. We need to find solutions that include everyone, enable equal opportunities and are sustainable - without just chasing after the latest hypes.

As a media consultant, digital strategist and journalist, I work on these issues. I support people and organizations to better communicate important issues and thus make the world a bit more diverse, equitable and sustainable. I moderate events and am a keynote speaker - including for digital events.

Until 2021, I worked as Senior Managing Editor at LinkedIn, building and leading the editorial teams for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and Benelux. In this role, I was responsible for content, strategy, and product development.

For my work as Managing Editor at LinkedIn, I was recognized by German media magazine Kress Pro as one of the Editors-in-Chief of 2019. Together with my team, I was awarded as one of the Business Journalists of the Year 2019 by the German media magazines Wirtschaftsjournalist and Medium Magazin.

Previously, I worked as a freelance journalist and author, speaker and lecturer for Süddeutsche Zeitung, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Deutschlandfunk and Deutsche Welle DWTV, among others.

I graduated from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, as well as the German School of Journalism (Deutsche Journalistenschule, DJS).

I've been interested in podcasts and newsletters since before it was cool. I've been writing a (now irregular) podcast newsletter since 2015. I've developed and hosted two podcasts for LinkedIn, most recently Nett Work, a show for career starters.
