Reasons for becoming passionate (about) animals?*

I am teaching practical philosophy at the School of Philosophy in Munich. Furthermore I conducted a research project on the theories of emotions in classical pragmatism for 15 months within the context of a DFG research fellowship at the philosophy department of the University of Sheffield. During that time I focused on articles concerning emotions and their epistemic roles as intellectual virtues. Problems that appear when discussing human-animal-relations offer the opportunity to combine theoretical thoughts with praxis. And when I just cannot make a head of these whimsicalities of human-animalrelations I begin by working with lyric poetry.

I have studied political science, philosophy, theatre science, and law at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU). It is also there that I received a PhD in 2011 for a dissertation in political philosophy, relating a theme from ancient political philosophy (the good city) to debates on and conditions of modern urban life. The book was published in in 2012.

I support efforts to make philosophy more inclusive, especially with regard to women in philosophy, and I want to mention this project on the so called 'Wartime Quartet' (Anscombe, Foot, Midgley, Murdoch) in particular, Moreover, I believe that philosophy should be made more accessible to the general public. Seminars at schools or additional trainings about my research topics seem to be good opportunities to reach out to the general public interest in the topics mentioned above.

I am happy to provide you with a CV upon request.

*the title of the book I am currently working on.
