We all have ideas, but sometimes it is not clear how to get started. Whether an internal project idea at work or a concept for a brand new business, getting an idea off the ground is hard work. But it is also a very rewarding journey for anyone with the determination to see it through.
I know this because I built my own start-up, j.jackman. Originally from New York, I moved to Berlin in 2014 to pursue my career in E-Commerce (and for love). After working almost 10 years in retail consulting and e-commerce, I decided to take a leap into unchartered territory: starting a sustainable fashion brand. The experience of building a company brick by brick in a new country and without experience or ability to speak the language has taught me a thing or two about vision, resilience, and the importance of being flexible. After 2 years of ups and downs, we have built a business focused on professional women's clothing, all made sustainably in Germany, that we are extremely proud of.
I believe in speaking authentically about making an idea a reality - the good points and the bad. If you are looking for an entertaining but insightful conversation on tools and tips for intra- and entrepreneurs, please do not hesitate to reach out.
