Professor in Creative Practice and Head of Research at School of Arts and Creative Industries at Edinburgh Napier University, 2020-2021 Rektor at KHM Cologne, before that:
Professor of Media and Cultural Studies at Bournemouth University (BU), Faculty of Media and Communication; Director of the Centre of Film &TV Research. 2006-20015 Professor of Dramaturgy and Aesthetics of audiovisual Media at Film University Babelsberg „Konrad Wolf“ (former HFF); visiting Prof. at HTW Berlin, Game Design, since 2013. 2014-2017 Deputy Chair of the international Screenwriting Research Network, member of Society of Cinema and Media Studies (SCMS), MeCCSA and AgDok. Filmmaker and Dramaturg, Member of German Film Academy. Editor of the series Media Production and Media Aesthetic at Peter Lang Publishing; Co-editor of ‘Classics of East European Cinema’, academic editor for Media and Communication, and peer reviewer for several academic publisher and journals.
