Bio:

Depending on the month and the day I would say that I speak between 12-15 language. I have read literature in 12 languages and I have given lectures or interviews in 7 languages. Apart from that, I have mastered several programming languages, because I work in computational linguistics, that is, I develop computer programs and websites which can deal with human language.

Some of the lectures I've given:
- How to learn / How to learn languages
- How to learn foreign writing systems
- The polyglot movement online
- How the internet has revolutionised language learning
- Internationalisation/Localisation of apps and games
- Chinese characters
- Swahili grammar
- Ruby on Rails
- How organisations can make use of the web 2.0

I have a MA in French studies and computational linguistics. My biggest programming projects were a machine translation tool and several social networks / community tools. I have also contributed to online language courses like GermanPod101 and Duolingo and I have written more than ten books (language courses or books about studying languages), which are available on Amazon. I am the founder of the Polyglot Gathering.
