Sylvia Nitzsche is a Berlin-based director and graduate designer. She began her creative journey as a freelance motion designer, graphic artist, and video artist, specializing in explainer videos and music videos. Over time, she has integrated artificial intelligence into her filmmaking process, handling everything from scriptwriting and music composition to sound design and post-production.
Her short films aim to make the invisible visible, seamlessly combining design, animation, and directing. In addition to her work as a director, she is an accomplished songwriter and an experienced educator, teaching songwriting, creative writing, animation, and After Effects. Her interdisciplinary approach not only defines her artistic projects but also enriches her teaching practice.

AI tools offer new ways to create stunning images, videos and music from simple text prompts. But is it really that simple? What are the tools called, what is the workflow and what ethical risks are associated with this technology? In our workshop we will explore the question of whether Gen AI is just hype or actually practical magic.
