Personal note:

I have always been deeply curious about how individuals and groups perceive responsibility. Whether it’s a group of friends planning a holiday together and how the group dynamics evolve to ensure everyone has a great time, or a team taking responsibility for the outcomes and systems they develop. During my work in the development of autonomous vehicles, I observed that team members need structures, routines, leadership, and personalities, as well as an understanding of their self-efficacy and scope of responsibility. Only then can they comprehend what they can do and how they must work to achieve safe, robust, socially desirable, and customer-centric results. This, of course, also applies to the development of AI systems across companies along the AI value chain. Therefore, I prefer to talk about responsible (innovation) ecosystems. These collectively structure themselves around the common goal of developing something that is sensitive to vulnerable groups in society and creates more benefits for society rather than causing harm.

Bio:

What is “Trustworthy AI”? How do we develop, deploy, and utilise AI systems that are not only technologically advanced but also socially robust, enhancing European sovereignty while reflecting our diverse social, cultural, and political values?

My personal mission is to shape Trustworthy AI innovation. I leverage my expertise, skills, and network to develop the knowledge, competencies, and cultural insights essential for AI to be not merely intelligent, but also socially desirable. We are at the epicenter of change: At the intersection of legal (e.g. #EUAIAct), societal, technological, and ethical consderations that define the way forward with AI. For this, It is essential to cultivate a more inclusive and realistic perspective on the AI systems we integrate into our lives.

AI creates winners and losers—by enabling “Trustworthy AI” over merely “AI,” I am dedicated to promoting the use of AI in ways that are socially robust, resonate with the unique social, cultural, and political commitments of diverse societies, and technologically progressive, thereby also reinforcing European sovereignty.

Let’s connect, co-create, listen, and lead!
