Lena Mazurkiewicz (M.A. Educational Science) works at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. There she researches professionalization processes in counselling training and the coping with and shaping of professional transitions. She also works as a counselor and lecturer in the field of power sensitivity. She is a certified person-centered counselor and has several years of experience in women's counseling as well as in university teaching and professional training.
Her concept “machtsensibel” aims to make topics such as diversity, intersectionality, discrimination and violence in gender relations as well as socially anchored power relations accessible, understandable and discussable in a lively and stimulating way. At the level of professional development, professional attitudes and orientations as well as action and communication skills are taught and developed interactively, which contribute to a power-sensitive approach in teams, among professionals and in working with clients. In her workshops, Lena Mazurkiewicz supports (prospective) professionals in clarifying their individual roles and developing a critical and reflective attitude that questions societal and social discrimination structures and privileges and creates opportunities for more diversity.
