Ece Pazarbaşı is a dynamic force at the intersection of curatorial practice and artistic research, dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary crossovers and innovative educational formats. Since 2014, she has been the visionary behind the Berlin Art Grant Clinic, a pivotal support system empowering artists, curators, NGOs, and creative minds to navigate successful careers in the art scene. She has conducted Grant Writing courses at prestigious institutions, including Aalto University, Helsinki Fine Arts Academy, Weissensee Kunsthochshcule, UdK Berlin, Transart Institute - Plymouth University, Open University - Helsinki Finland, Mainz and Kassel Kunsthochschule. Her influence extends beyond academic settings, reaching diverse platforms such as bildungswerk des bbk Berlin, HIAP Artist Residency, Branchentreff – Performing Arts Programm des Laft Berlin, PAP – Performing Arts Programme, and Goethe Institute. She served many selection committees including the Jury of Berlin Senat for Berlin Artist Residency in Bethanien, is in the advisory board of TUSIAD Berlin - Bosphorus Initiative, and a member of the ICI – Independent Curators International, New York.
Her curatorial experiences include “Spooky Distance” 8.Uckermark Festival (2023); “The Things We are Made of” series of 4 exhibitions including Tarabya Kulturakademie alumni Sencer Vardarman at WAMX - Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art – Turku City Art Museum, Finland; -5 MINUTES Ljubljana Biennial of Short Video; “Cabinet of the Unknown” exhibition Werkbundarchiv - Museum der Dinge; “Bank Blank” main exhibition of 48 hrs Neukölln with Stephan Klee; “Memory Plates” within the frame of Festival of Future Nows at Hamburger Bahnhof; “Muscle Memory” Kunstraum Bethanien/ Kreuzberg; “12/12” and “Turkish Art Nice and Simple” exhibitions at Tanas Berlin together with René Block. She was the assistant curator of the 52nd Venice Biennial Turkish Pavilion.
She worked with New Museum - New York for Ideas City: Istanbul (2012) as project coordinator and in 2009-2010 she worked as the Consultant and Program Specialist of Visual Arts for Turkey at the Strategic Planning and Development Department for Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, UAE.
