I have 10 years of experience in the tech industry with a background in program management, product, and operations. I specialize in launching global software products and leading complex initiatives.

I’m passionate about the intersection of technology and social impact, and was a founding member of a multinational tech company called Endless (EndlessOS.com), whose mission is to make computing universally accessible. I’m also the former President of the GNOME Foundation (gnome.org), a 20+ year old open source software organization that creates the world’s most popular Linux desktop.

I’m based in the San Francisco Bay Area, often speak at open source conferences and have given several international keynote speeches.

GNOME is a free and open source software organization that produces the #1 Linux desktop with millions of users worldwide. It is the default technology that is used by Ubuntu, Fedora by Red Hat, openSUSE, and many of the other most popular Linux distributions. However, it is not always known as being the most user friendly, and despite having millions of users, GNOME and Linux desktops as a whole only claim less than 3% of the total desktop market share.

This talk is about how we can adapt GNOME, and other Linux-based software, to help gain adoption in the developing world and expand its worldwide reach.
