Melissa Logan ist im Bundestaat New York aufgewachsen, wo sie auch ein Kunststudium begann. Nach einem Aufenthalt in London gründete sie 1997 an der Münchner Kunstakademie mit Alex Murray-Leslie das Performance-Kollektiv Chicks On Speed. Bislang sind sechs Alben erschienen.Nonkonform, feministisch, partizipativ - Chicks on Speed ist ein multimodal, multi- nationales Kollektiv.
Die Chicks on Speed haben mit zahlreichen Künstlern und Institutionen verschiedener Bereiche wie Douglas Gordon, Francesca von Habsburg, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Peaches, Karl Lagerfeld oder Peter Weibel vom ZKM in Karlsruhe zusammengearbeitet. In den letzten Jahren waren ihre Live-Art Performances weltweit bei wichtigen Festivals wie der Biennale in Venedig und in renommierten Museen wie dem Centre Pompidou in Paris, dem MoMA in New York und dem Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney zu erleben.
